Donation for Rosita from Julie and Jeff Morgan from Caerphilly, Wales

I am very pleased to inform that my friend and Scrabble partner Julie Morgan Williams and her husband Jeff from Wales have kindly donated GBP 200.00 for Rosita. As Rosita might be scheduled to have her next surgery in May, it is very important that we continue sending milk before and after her operation as this will help with her defenses. Julie explained to me that Jeff's grandfather had an hair lip that wasn't corrected.
Hopefully one day Julie and Jeff will visit be able to visit La Casa de los Pinguinos . I will make sure that they get the royal treatment and of course a guided visit to Paz Holandesa, where they help hundred of children like Rosita for free.

Another donation, but anonymous

Yesterday we sent another parcel with milk to Juliaca. This time the donor is anonymous. Through another person I received Euro 100. We bought 3 tins of milk. Also I sent some plastic plates for Rosita and a notebook. The notebook contains exercises her mother has to do with Rosita. Rosita has started speech therapy with Paz Holandesa. The notebook contains pictures of Rosita and her mother and animal stickers. Rosita has to make sounds like animal noises, this way she starts using the facial muscles. The next parcel will be sent beginning of March and we will use the left over money from Diane Gauvin and the anonymous donor.

Ricardo Silva is well known for his parts in several major telenovelas (soaps). He stayed several days at La Casa de los Pinguinos.

Rosita January 2012

Rosita came back from Juliaca for her bimonthly check up. A week ago she burned her left hand quite badly, probably will be scarred. An accident with hot tea. Otherwise she is fine, now weighing 11kilos!

End of March they will return and Rosita will start speech therapy and have a consultation with the psychologist. Maybe in May she will have her operation.
Diane Gauvin, who stayed at La Casa de los Pinguinos a year ago was so kind to make a donation. With this money we bought the birthday present for Rosita, cream for her burned hand, big pack of diapers and tin of milk.

We had Pedro Escribano, the poet, writer and editor of La Republica stay with us. Promised to come back in May when he launches his latest book. He presented us with a signed work that was launched in Arequipa a couple of days ago.

Milk for Rosita

Today we will send 4 big tins of milk to Rosita in Juliaca. We do this every month and this shipment is thanks to the donation of Johanna. Rosita uses a tin per week. She will visit us again at the end of the month for her check up. Hopefully she will be scheduled for her next operation in March. She will turn 2 this month somewhere in the middle of January. This sounds funny but Cristina gave us different dates and now I cannot remember the correct one. Does not matter we will buy Rosita new clothes and a birthday present.

Johanna in September

Johanne visited in September with more milk and some books. She also later deposited $300 into my account enabling me to buy milk for months to come. Johanna is returning to the US in October. Her help is really appreciated.

In August Rosita visited Arequipa for her check up. Johanna came by with clothes and milk for Rosita. She sells jewelry on line and a percentage of the profits goes to Rosita.
